WWF
WWF is a leading international conservation organization and was an active participant in the international negotiations to establish the GEF at the first United Nations Earth Summit in Rio in 1992. Since then, WWF has supported GEF policies and operations, taking part in the design or implementation of more than 100 GEF programs and projects.

This status allows WWF to work directly with GEF member countries to design and implement GEF programs and projects on their behalf, with full accreditation with respect to GEF policies, standards and procedures. WWF-US serves as the GEF agency within the international WWF Network.
