Atuca Foundation

ATUCA (Unity and equality with nature) is a Colombian organization created in 2016, made up of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and local knowledge holders committed to the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of biodiversity. We develop strategies that bring together environmental, social and economic components, with a focus on territorial sustainability, community participation and transdisciplinary knowledge. Our work covers four lines: advisory services and management of environmental, business and community studies around green businesses (sustainable tourism, agroforestry systems, responsible fishing, circular economy and safeguards); applied research to develop sustainable solutions in restoration, bioeconomy, peacebuilding and natural resource management; training for resilient territorial management, covering topics such as marketing, audiovisual production and nature-based solutions; and sustainable events aimed at strengthening networks and measuring impacts (carbon, water and ecological footprints, and offsets). Through sustainable gatherings, we drive processes that empower communities through education, social strengthening and the protection of biocultural heritage. We firmly believe that collective well-being is closely linked to the health of our ecosystems, which is why we work with a socio-ecological and territorial approach to contribute to harmonious and sustainable development.
